"I currently work in a looser style using oils and a frottage technique (not rubbing onto separate paper ) but on the canvas or board itself. I create the textured effect of say trees or water by rubbing a crayon or oil pastel over the top of a textured gesso and acrylic surface. Paint can then be worked into the gaps with a brush or craft knife. It's exciting to find new mark making techniques and explore more subtle colour palettes in my painting."
