"I always prefer working direct from life, using pen then watercolour when sketching people and places out and about. Less baggage and a lot quicker and easier than acrylics, which I would use if working indoors, on an interior for example where I have a bit more time and space to work. Various exhibitions over the years, including the Ferens and Beverley Open, have enabled me to sell my work and these paintings have often, but not always, been interiors. "
