"My passion is expressive and figurative portraiture, although I happily paint still life and landscapes too. I came to painting as a way to manage becoming housebound after my English degree from St. Andrews, and work from my spare room in Pocklington. My practice has grown steadily since 2016 via lessons (online and in person) from respected painters, online workshops and commissions. I am currently painting submissions to national art competitions. I love to create seemingly traditional portraits which quietly subvert, raise a wry smile and nod to key figures in art history."
